Robin Stewart-Crompton, LL.B (Adel), Grad. Dip. Int. Law (ANU), LL.M (ANU).
Mr Stewart-Crompton is a consultant in the fields of OHS, industrial relations and public administration. After practising as a lawyer, he was a Commonwealth public servant from 1975 to 2005. That included appointments as a Deputy Secretary of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations from 1995 to 2000 and CEO of the former National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC) from 2000 to 2004. He also served from 1996 to 2004 as a member of the Commonwealth’s Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission and of NOHSC. Mr Stewart-Crompton has considerable experience in providing policy advice and in developing and implementing legislation. He has represented Australia at the ILO and other international forums.
Barry Noel Sherriff
Barry Noel Sherriff, LLB (Hons)(Melb) LLM (Mon) FSIA, is the lead Partner of the national OHS practice of Freehills. Barry’s focus in practice is on proactive OHS improvement and governance strategies, culture and leadership, and effective risk management. Barry, who was recently named in the Labour and Employment category of Best Lawyers International, has been actively involved in the development and review of legislation and standards in OHS for over two decades.
He is a member of numerous national and state stakeholder bodies and represented industry in consultation with the Victorian Government in the drafting of the Victorian OHS legislation in 2004. He is a Fellow of the Safety Institute of Australia and the National OHS Co-ordinator of the Property Council of Australia. Among various publications, Barry authored “OHS in Practice: A Guide to Legislation in Victoria” in 2005 and several chapters of the first (2003) and second (2007) editions of the “Australian Master OHS and Environment Guide”.
Stephanie Mayman
Stephanie Mayman is a Commissioner in both the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission and the Western Australian Occupational Safety and Health Tribunal.
Prior to these appointments, Ms Mayman was Secretary of Unions WA, where she had a representational role in industrial issues, social policy, occupational safety, and superannuation at state, national and international levels.
Ms Mayman has previously held positions on the Western Australian Occupational Health and Safety Commission and the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission. She been involved in OHS issues since 1983, and has represented the ACTU on health and safety matters at a national and international level.
